Worship
Ministry
Depending
on your church background, you may find our service somewhat different.
Though we encourage freedom of expression in our times of praise,
there always needs to be order and reverence. We embrace the fullness
of God's Holy Spirit and the gifts that He brings, however we seek
the Lord, not specific manifestations. It is our desire to worship
the Lord in Spirit and in Truth, coming into His presence with sensitivity
and humility ~ "Those who approach me must regard me
as holy".
Worship
is so much more than simply singing songs. Worship involves turning
our whole lives to the Lord ~ our hearts, minds and bodies. We don't
want to be accused of being a people who draw near to God
with our lips but our hearts are far from Him'.
We
believe that God has given various gifts to His church, including
singers and musicians. Worship through music and singing is a wonderful
vehicle to assist us in drawing near to God. We encourage servant-hearted
ministry, not performance based presentations. We believe that we
need to be skilled' and serve with a spirit of excellence',
but we are simply vessels that He chooses to use ~ nothing more.
The focus of our attention always needs to be on the Lord, not on
the vessel He uses. The heart of the matter is a matter of the heart.
We
typically have a team of musicians and singers ministering during
our Sunday morning gatherings. This often includes a piano, a guitar
or two, a bass, the drums and a few ensemble singers. Our worship
leader coordinates the team and gives direction to the congregation,
always endeavouring to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
